I am a huge cheerleader for PMI. I love what I do. PMI
gave me my life back!
Recently divorced, I found I couldn’t afford to live on
my own, and I was scared. I had only worked in retail,
but I had always been interested in Radiography. My
stepmom likes to say, “I’m a duck who found her pond.”
When I got to PMI, I knew I’d found my fit. Not only
was I good at what I was doing, but I loved it! I had
instructors who also loved what they were doing, which
made it so much easier to learn, experience, and grow in
my profession.
The early encouragement from my instructors sparked
my curiosity and fueled my desire to learn and progress
up the career ladder. As a student, I became involved
with the American Society of Radiologic Technologists
(ASRT), which furthered my desire to continue my
education and work on the professional development side
of my career. I completed my bachelor’s degree in Manage-
ment & Communications and then finished my master’s
in Health Care Administration from Colorado State
University. In 2016, I was elected to a 5th term on the
ASRT Board of Directors as President-Elect. In 2017
I will assume the role of President, where I will represent
the 153,000 imaging technologists across the nation.
I owe much of my success to my instructors and mentors
at PMI and I will be forever grateful to everyone who
has encouraged me along my path.
