I was working in the veterinary industry for a veterinary
radiologist and had gotten my bachelor’s in animal sciences
intending to eventually become a veterinarian. One of
my co-workers was enrolled in PMI’s Radiography program
and she would use our light boxes after work to study. I
was fascinated with her cool assignments, so she encouraged
me to go to a PMI information session. It felt a little
strange because I already had my bachelor’s, but I got so
excited about Radiography as a career that I enrolled.
The program was difficult but the instructors gave me all
the tools I needed to succeed. Not only did they encourage
me to ask questions, they were willing to take the time
to explain and make sure I understood the material. They
cared! The instructors also did a great job and catered to
all different learning styles. I’m a tactile learner, some of
my classmates were more visual learners, the instructors
taught to our particular style. The two years went by
so fast.
After graduating I got a job with the University of
Washington, and I am also working with the Seattle
Mariners. I found I really love orthopedic medicine and
I am having so much fun! PMI was a fantastic experience!
It changed my life. I have the pleasure of going to work
every day knowing I am making a difference. It is so
rewarding and I love what I do!
