I currently work as an Office Manager, a position I never
dreamed I’d hold. Like many young, single moms, I
struggled with going back to school while trying to hold
down a job. My need for an education that was quick,
but also offered a successful career, prompted me to visit
Pima Medical Institute. After discussing options, I decided
their Dental Assistant program would be the perfect fit
for my needs. I was able to take afternoon classes, allowing
me to have a part-time job and still care for my son. Also,
the small class size and personal attention of my instructors
was a huge help.

Even with no education beyond my
nine-month certificate from PMI, I’ve been
able to move up to a management position.

I did my six-week externship with Perfect Teeth, and they
hired me as a hygienist assistant. I graduated with honors,
and felt so thoroughly prepared I was able to jump right
in. After two years, I was promoted to Patient Coordinator
and, six years later, I was promoted to my current position
as Office Manager. Even with no education beyond my
nine-month certificate from PMI, I’ve been able to move
up to a management position.
