Jonathan Mundt After serving for 10 years in the U.S. Army as an
automated logistical specialist, I decided to pursue a
Medical Assistant Program career in the medical field. I found Pima Medical Institute,
Health Care Administration Program enrolled in the Medical Assistant (MA) program and after
only six weeks, I quit. Transitioning from the military to
Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration Program going back to school was really tough for me. One day,
Colorado Springs & Online Campuses I stopped back at the school and one of my instructors
encouraged me to come back. I decided to give it one
Graduated 2016, 2017, 2021 more shot and ended up loving the hands-on training.
Heading into a new job as an MA, I felt ready and
prepared.
After only five years, I’ve
experienced incredible growth in my
new career.
Soon after starting my job, I enrolled in Pima Medical’s
Health Care Administration (HCA) program. I had a
family to support and needed to work full time, and the
online program allowed me to do both. Shortly after
completing my associate degree, I was offered a job as a
Test Management Manager at North Colorado Medical
Center (NCMC) with Banner Health in Greeley, Colorado.
There, I manage the inpatient phlebotomists, the
processing department and the outpatient lab. About
a year into this position, I enrolled in Pima Medical’s
online Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration
program. Since I am responsible for recruiting, hiring
and training for the lab, I found the classes to be very
applicable and it has made me a better leader.
After only five years, I’ve experienced incredible growth
in my new career. I’m even an assistant phlebotomy
instructor at my local community college. I am so grateful
for Pima Medical! Without the wonderful instructors who
encouraged me, I wouldn’t have a career I love.
