Many people have asked what made Senior so compassionate
and supportive to all kinds of students and people in general.
I believe his passion was born out of his own painful life
experiences. Having suffered as many defeats as Lincoln, he
believed in providing second chances. He lived his life being
“color blind” towards others long before “diversity” was politi-
cally correct. He preached to whoever would listen that one’s
            attitude determines one’s altitude.
He never set out to build the biggest school but rather to be
the best. Senior loved to spend time with student applicants
learning about their life stories and then helping them write
bright new chapters through education. He frowned on sin-
gling out the “A” students for special recognition because he
knew that for some, getting a “B” or a “C” was a herculean
            effort worthy of equal recognition.
